Innovative board solutions to meet the growing demand for more sustainable packaging in food and beverage applications.

Lecta is pleased to announce the expansion of its EraCup range with new board grades developed to meet the evolving responsible requirements of disposable packaging in the food service industry.

This broadened offering reinforces Lecta's commitment to a more sustainable future, providing responsible, high-performance paperboards for hot and cold beverage cups, as well as food packaging and boxes.

Environmental Protection at the Core

All grades in Lecta's EraCup range are fully recyclable, repulpable, and food-safe, meeting the highest technical and hygiene standards. They support circular economy principles and are designed for efficient end-of-life disposal.

Made from Solid Bleached Board (SBB) and sourced from certified sustainable forests, all products are recyclable through standard paper waste streams, with several options certified for industrial and home compostability.

New Additions to the EraCup Range

EraCup Natural
Already recognized for its industrial compostability and high recyclability, EraCup Natural now goes further with home compostability certification across all available grammages (195, 225, 275, and 315 g/m²). This treated SBB board features an aqueous dispersion coating on the reverse side, offering a natural solution for single-use packaging.

EraCup 1PE 10 & EraCup 1PE 15
These two new grades feature a polyethylene (PE) coating on the reverse side—available in 10 g/m² and 15 g/m² options. Available in total grammages ranging from 200 to 320 g/m², they offer new possibilities for cup manufacturers seeking enhanced functionality and process flexibility.

EraBase
To complete the range, Lecta introduces EraBase, an uncoated and untreated SBB board supplied in reels. Designed for extrusion, lamination, or other converting processes, it is available in 185, 215, 265, and 305 g/m², and is also certified for both industrial and home composting.

Technical Performance and Versatility
All grades in the EraCup and EraBase range share key technical advantages:

  • A smooth, natural surface suitable for flexographic and offset printing, ensuring high-quality graphics and brand consistency.
  • A reverse side treatment, either with an aqueous dispersion or PE coating, that enables the production of liquid-tight paper cups.
  • Excellent sealing strength, compatible with low-, medium-, and high-speed cup forming machines, using heat or ultrasonic welding.

With this EraCup range expansion, Lecta reaffirms its commitment to innovation and the development of more sustainable packaging products, responding to the growing demand for environmentally responsible paper cup materials. This marks a new step in Lecta's path toward "A New Era of Responsibility", creating food service paper solutions designed in line with the circular economy — to protect what matters, today and tomorrow.
