Experts from the packaging industry met in Barcelona to discuss the latest developments in a fast-moving sector

The annual "Global Packaging Summit" features the latest packaging solutions and industry hot topics such as sustainability, new regulations, innovative cost-reduction strategies, new materials and how to grow brands through packaging design.

As an event sponsor, Lecta reinforces its position as leader in paper solutions for the packaging industry. This year, Lecta presented its Metalvac metallized papers and Creaset one-side coated papers for labels and flexible packaging.

Metalvac high-vacuum metallized papers are 100% recyclable and designed for high-quality moisture-resistant wet-glue labels suitable for returnable and non-returnable bottles as well as for use as pressure-sensitive labels. Other applications include inner liners for cigarette packets, wrapping paper and chocolate and food wrappers in general.

Creaset, Lecta's line of one-side coated papers, offers important new developments. These include high and low wet-strength papers for water, beer and different types of returnable containers, papers for yoghurt banderoles and thermoform dessert pots for rotogravure printing, as well as papers specially designed for shopping bags.

Lecta is a leading European manufacturer and distributor of specialty paper for labels and flexible packaging, coated paper for publishing and commercial printing, and other high value-added print media. With an extensive range of innovative, environmentally friendly products for a wide variety of end uses, Lecta is one of the foremost suppliers of paper solutions worldwide.

All of Lecta's manufacturing sites are certified to the strictest environmental standards – ISO 14001 and EMAS – and hold PEFC™ and FSC® chain of custody certificates, thereby guaranteeing sustainably sourced wood and pulp raw materials.
